As ammonia prices continue to soar globally, the Oilfield Workers Trade Union’s (OWTU’s) president general Ancel Roget has vowed to do his best to let workers benefit from the profits.
Early Thursday morning under stormy skies, Roget and his team went to Yara Trinidad Limited in Couva to submit a proposal for wage negotiations.

The company has over 220 permanent workers out of which 166 are unionized
As he delivered the document for collective bargaining for the period 2022 to 2025, Roget said the OWTU is not prepared to go to court
“We are about to deliver a new proposal for the new period of collective bargaining that is 2022 to 2025. Right now the company has a proposal for 2019 to 2021 which they have not responded to properly,” he revealed
